About NGO Fractal

NGO Fractal is a grass-root civil society organization that merged as an authentic response of young professionals to pressing humanitarian, economic, security and social-political problems during the very turbulent and painful recent history of the Western Balkan.
NGO Fractal was founded on the 21st of April 2001 in Belgrade by 12 co-founders; young (under the age of 27 ) individuals with different professional and educational backgrounds. Each of us brought and embodied certain knowledge, skills and already gained experience and contacts into NGO Fractal’s structure.
The Fractal Mission statement is to work towards better communication and cooperation of people with different backgrounds.
We thought that the Mission statement should be short and concrete but still wide enough for all complexities of past and present, and unknown challenges that lie in the future.
Basically, such statement should answer the question how to ensure the process of transition from Conflict to Cooperation and eventually Integration in Western Balkan region.
We did not only witness but as well suffered during the conflict years of our youth (90s). We felt personal and professional challenge and motivation, but as well responsibility to give a small and modest but still an important contribution to this vital and crucial process of changing our societies and shaping a better future.
The past years of engagement just confirmed this initial logic that remained the muse and source of inspiration for all activities, projects and programs undertaken by Fractal NGO.
