Within the project Regional civil society actions for raising awareness and tolerance, NGO Fractal organized, in collaboration with the Bujanovac municipality on January 28th 2009, the second debate regarding the position of national minorities. The aim was to identify the problems with the citizens that the minority communities are facing with and that should be presented to the government institutions in a later stage of the project. We have in mind that there are still challenges in the field of raising awareness of minority rights, their participation in decision making and overall progress in terms of cooperation and respect for community rights and the principles of equality and nondiscrimination. |
