Our Future – European Integration

In cooperation with:
IKV Pax Christi (The Netherlands) and Integra (Kosovo)
Supported by: The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and

Fund for an Open Society Serbia

Our Future – European Integration (OFEI) an exchange program, in which every year, since 2003, a new group of selected young people from Kosovo, Serbia and The Netherlands participates in various activities. Within the program they share their ideas and views on political, cultural, social and other issues. OFEI constitutes an extra-curricular program that is widening and deepening knowledge of youngsters on different topics related to European integration and the Kosovo-Serbia conflict. Moreover the exchange constitutes an empowering and enriching life experience and gives the opportunity to meet people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds in their own societies.

Core activities of program are study visits we organize 3 visits per year: first to Kosovo, second to Serbia, and the third one to The Netherlands and Brussels. Each year these study visit are embraced with one overall topic i.e. in 2006 that topic was “Position of National Minorities”, in 2007 participants were gathered around “National and European Identity” while in 2009 that topic will link past (history) and the future (EU integration).

All young people that have participated in OFEI, since its’ beginnings, are part of Our Future Network (OFN). OFN is very vivid and active with numerous initiatives for new projects in these 3 locations and countries. Each program year network is widening and group of 15 (5 youngsters from each place of origin) new members are joining the network, hence OFN is showing great dynamic and great social potential for building a new capital. With implementing their own projects they are giving their contribution to the network and they are keeping it alive.
